France-based hotel giant Accor has led a $16 million Series D funding found for India-based Treebo Hotels.
Existing investors Elevation Capital, Matrix Partners, Bertelsmann and Ward Ferry were also part of the investment, with Bennett Coleman & Company also participating in the support for the hotel franchise and booking platform.
Sidharth Gupta, co-founder of Treebo Hotels, says the company is forming a partnership with Accor that will see Treebo’s Hotel Superhero technology rolled out at selected Accor properties.
This latest funding comes on top of a $6 million injection in October 2020, which Treebo said at the time would go towards building out its Hotel Superhero SaaS business.
The partnership with and investment from Accor was announced at Treebo’s Foundation Day event, with Floor Bleeker, chief technology officer of Accor, saying: “Hotel Superhero, is exactly the kind of technology that the hospitality industry needs today.
"It is cloud based, intuitively designed, and comprehensive in its functionalities. We are looking forward to using their solutions to improve guest experience and operational efficiency.”
Treebo, has more than 600 hotels across India, received $35 million in Series C funding in 2017.
