Six months following its Series A raise of $30 million, Barcelona-based hospitality technology startup Amenitiz has acquired hotel e-learning provider Ododo for an undisclosed sum.
Launched in 2018, Amenitiz’s operating system equips independent hoteliers and B&Bs with a property management system, website and channel manager to help boost direct bookings and lessen dependence on online travel agencies.
France-based Ododo provides hoteliers with training on strategies and tactics to help increase direct bookings and become more profitable.
With Ododo, Amenitiz says it will further support independent hoteliers in better managing their properties by democratizing access to knowledge about how to optimize their business. Amenitiz will provide Ododo’s training free of charge, and physical events will supplement online training courses in the future.
“Independent hoteliers are evolving in a constantly changing environment that requires them to be constantly on the lookout to adapt in real time to best practices,” says Alexandre Guinefolleau, CEO of Amenitiz.

“However, the day-to-day management of a hotel is so busy that they don't have the time to do this monitoring. This is where we want to help them, and the acquisition of Ododo is part of our strategy to offer hoteliers what they really need: an all-in-one tool adapted to their daily challenges and also practical advice that can be applied on a daily basis, allowing them to have an immediate impact on their results.”
Amenitiz also plans to launch a multilingual training program, called the Hotel Club, which will give hoteliers access to training and the Ododo Accelerator for free, regardless of if they’re an Amenitiz customer.
As part of the deal, Ododo founder Marc-Antoine de la Rüe du Can will join Amenitiz as head of content.
"Helping independent hoteliers face the many challenges and pitfalls of our industry is a passion. When Alexandre asked me to join them in the Amenitiz adventure I saw an opportunity to help even more hoteliers,” he says.
“With the means at our disposal, we will revolutionize access to knowledge and know-how in an industry that sorely needs it. You have no idea how happy I am to be able to have such an impact on the lives of people who get up every morning to make their customers happy. Now it's our turn to ensure the happiness of … independent hoteliers!”
