Singapore-based low-cost flight platform Atlas launched in 2019
and, despite the slowdown caused by the pandemic, it now has more than 200
low-cost carriers from around the globe integrated with its system, offering bundled fares, dynamic pricing and ancillaries.
But founder Mary Li says that is just the start of the work Atlas
is doing to make travel an easy, enjoyable purchase for travelers and an
efficient, data-driven process for sellers.
In November, the company launched its Air Travel Retailing
and Information Platform (ATRIP), a cloud-based system to expedite search
queries and provide useful insights for travel sellers.

In an interview in the PhocusWire studio at Phocuswright
Europe, Li discussed how low-cost carriers have an advantage because they are
not constrained by legacy technology, so they can operate with more flexibility
and speed.
But she also noted the challenges they face, including the
need to enable sales in multiple currencies and across a variety of channels
such as TikTok, where their customers, especially those from younger
generations, may want to buy.
And Li talked about the critical role of data in airline
retailing and how generative AI such as ChatGPT can help travel sellers.
