Group tours and experiences specialist Modern Adventure has closed Series A funding of $4.8 million.
Existing investor Seal Rock Partners contributed to the round alongside personal investments from Natty Zola of Matchstick Ventures and Nate
Abbott of Mischief Ventures.
The investment in the United States-based company will go towards expanding its travel offerings, recruitment and improving the customer experience.

Certified B Corp Modern Adventure, which was founded in 2017, will also use the funding to continue its work with the MO/AD Foundation, a nonprofit it established last year.
Luis Vargas, founder and CEO of the company, said: “Modern Adventure believes experiences are table stakes to building a relationship with the consumer, and we continue to see traction in our core business of talent-hosted trips and our expanding portfolio of private group retreats around the world.”
Jonathan Cohen, co-founder and partner at Seal Rock, which led Modern Adventure’s seed round, said: “We are excited to participate in this round as the team continues to scale an exceptional brand and their world-class experiences around the globe.”
The company announced seed funding of $1 million in late 2017, saying at the time that it planned to expand its customer base and accelerate product growth and customer acquisition.
