Amsterdam-based tours and activities ticketing platform Tiqets and Hong Kong-based tours and activities online travel agency Klook are
entering a strategic partnership to connect their supply channels.
For Tiqets, this is the second collaboration in about two
months with an Asia-based company, following its announcement
in July of an integration with Trip.com Group.
Both Tiqets and Klook were founded in 2014
and have grown to become two of the largest online travel agencies for attractions,
tours and experiences. Klook also offers booking of accommodations, transportation and food experiences but only its activities and attractions will be connected to Tiqets.
“What this underlines is that for both Klook and us that we
have such a strong position - we in the United States and Europe and they in Asia
– and what we’ve both discovered is to focus where you are good at, deepen that
and build that out,” says Luuc Elzinga, founder and president of Tiqets.

With the integration, customers booking through Klook or
Tiqets can book experiences offered by either platform, with instant ticketing
and multiple languages and payment options, giving travelers more choice and
suppliers more visibility.
“This partnership with Tiqets opens new doors for both
groups of customers to enjoy instant and seamless access to the widest
selection of attractions and experiences across Asia Pacific and Europe,” says
Wilfred Fan, chief commercial officer at Klook.
“Klook has gone from strength to strength during the
pandemic, and we’ve quadrupled the number of activities on our platform over
the last two years in anticipation of travel recovery. We will continue to work
closely with our merchants to accelerate their recovery and reach even more
customers around the world.”
Both companies have seen a resurgence in bookings as the
pandemic continued on. Tiqets says its bookings surged 220% in Europe and the
United Kingdom during the summer months, and Klook says its outbound bookings
have grown 11 times in the same period compared to earlier in the year.
