Indian OTA Cleartrip has opened up its tours and activities inventory, allowing hotels in Dubai to sell a range of trips to guests via the hotel dotcom or offline at the concierge desk.
Cleartrip's "digital concierge" contains more than 1000 things to do in Dubai, all of which are bookable in real-time with instant confirmation. Some 25 hotels in Dubai have signed up, with the hotel earning a commission on any trip booked through the white label.
The business, which added activities in October 2015, is also working with suppliers in Dubai to move their operations online and feed inventory into its platform by offering tools enabling them to create their own products, manage the content directly including inventory and pricing.
It acknowledged that many independent tours businesses in Dubai, as is the case globally, are still relying on manual processes for bookings. High-profile venues, such as Burj Khalifa and Dubai Parks, have an API for Cleartrip to access their booking and confirmation engines.
And at the same time it is building up its route to market for existing and new suppliers by allowing offline travel desks across the region access to the inventory.
Cleartrip said that its aim "is to become Dubai’s largest tech enabled travel activities and experiences provider..."
