Flexible-term rental marketplace Anyplace – one of PhocusWire’s Hot 25 Startups for 2021 – has raised $5.3 million in a Series A round.
GA Technologies led the round, with Jason Calacanis, Launch Fund, Keisuke Honda and East Ventures also participating.
With the new financing, which brings the startup’s total funding to $8 million, Anyplace will expand its network of furnished work-friendly apartments in major cities across the United States.
In September of last year, the company launched Anyplace Select, accommodations specifically designed for remote work, as more people embraced the work-from-anywhere movement amid the pandemic.

Every Select apartment has a fully equipped office setup, including a height-adjustable standing desk, ergonomic chair, 34-inch monitor, professional microphone, webcam, collapsible green screen, laptop stand, docking station and fast Wi-FI.
According to Anyplace co-founder and CEO Satoru Steve Naito, Anyplace Select achieved a $1 million revenue run rate in just seven months after launch.
Anyplace Select has launched in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and New York City. The new funds will help the company to expand its inventory to meet the rising demand in those cities.
"We aim to become the go-to accommodation platform for remote workers. Broadening the footprint of Anyplace Select is our path to solidify this position,” Naito says.
