By now most folk should know that there is a distinct difference between the open model of blockchain and distributed ledger technology.
A distributed network is a direct and transparent path for data to flow between hotels and connected industry partners.
The network has no central servers or single points of failure, it protagonists argue.
It’s built out of connected nodes run by partners, creating a distributed application that has similar functionality to a traditional computer reservation system.
The goal for those pushing the technology is to create a "single auditable source of truth" that all connected network participants can rely on.
One of those protagonists is Nadim El Manaway, CEO at Arise Travel.
After participating at The Phocuswright Conference 2018 in Los Angeles, he was invited to speak at Phocuswright Europe in Amsterdam last month.
