Indian OTA Cleartrip is still seeing more room nights booked from desktop than mobile, with some interesting patterns emerging between the different mobile platforms.
Its Quarterly Insight infographic, posted below in full, reveals that 60% of room nights were booked from desktops in the April to June quarter, with 40% coming from mobile.
Within mobile, Android is by far the dominant platform, with 57% of the room nights booked. IoS comes in next with 23% with Windows barely registering at 2%.
It is interesting that mobile web is accounting for nearly one-in-five room nights at 16%. Earlier this year Cleartrip relaunched its mobile web site and put its importance on a par with its apps.
The quarterly insight also reveals a difference in how Android and IoS users search for hotels. Android users prioritise location, while IoS looks for properties where payment is at the hotel. Price ranks second for Andriod, third for IoS.
