Online travel business eDreams Odigeo has added Italy to its network of tech hubs with the launch of an innovation center in Milan.
The Barcelona-based business already has development centers across Europe in cities including Madrid, Alicante and Budapest.
Dana Dunne, chief executive officer at eDreams Odigeo, says the tech hubs are important to the company’s “continued growth as a subscription-based business.”
“As demand for leisure travel and subscription services continues to grow, we are perfectly placed to embark on the next stage of our journey. Ensuring that we provide our customers with an unparalleled experience is key to our success, and to that end, we are investing in expanding our network of tech hubs across Europe and recruiting top talent to join our team and help us continue revolutionizing the travel industry."
EDreams Odigeo originally launched its Prime subscription service offering flights in 2017. It added accommodation to Prime in 2020.
In its most recent earnings report in November, the company, whose brands include Liligo and Opodo, said it was on track to hit 7.25 million Prime subscription members by 2025.
At the time, members totaled 3.6 million, having grown 109% over the past 12 months, according to the company.
