Finnair plans to rollout continuous pricing in the coming months via its website, mobile app and NDC channels for third parties.
In a statement, the company says the move means customers will not suffer large price increases between booking classes with pricing no longer tied to “legacy price points.”
The carrier is also removing domestic routes from the Edifact system from May 1 and making them available via direct as well as NDC channels.
Finnair said more than a year ago that it planned to stop using Edifact technology for distribution by the end of 2025.

Jenni Suomela, vice president, global sales and channel management, says: “We are committed to transforming how flight products are sold and serviced, for the benefit of our customers and the whole industry. We encourage our B2B partners to join on this journey, to make the benefits available for all of our customers and are ready to support and help our partners in this transformation.”
The company recently described its strategy for the next three years, saying in a statement, “Finnair has three goals: to offer its customers the best digital experience for sales and services by improving the ease of use, to improve customer engagement by increasing the share of direct distribution channels and through more efficient distribution and to offer competitive products and options to customers enabling upselling and cross-selling.”
The airline also introduced a surcharge on Edifact bookings in 2022.
