Cutting it very fine at Amadeus and IAG (umbrella company containing British Airways and Iberia), with the pair renewing their distribution deal at the last minute.
There was a danger that one of the biggest distribution deals in the airline industry was in danger of running out as Amadeus negotiated with the group over the Easter holiday weekend.
The Iberia agreement with Amadeus was due to run out on Sunday (31 March) and its sister carrier BA having until 5 April before it expired.
It was the first time Amadeus has signed a new distribution agreement with IAG since the organisation's formation in January 2011 following the merger of BA and Iberia. It also includes the Iberia Express carrier.
Lengthy and often fraught talks are understood to have taken place for a number of months, with offers of improved financial arrangements from Amadeus as the pair attempted to work towards a new deal.
Being without a distribution agreement may sound troublesome for both Amadeus and IAG, but earlier this year Travelport's deal with American Airlines expired whilst the pair sparred in the courts over the Direct-Connect saga and tickets were effectively still available to Worldspan, Galileo and Apollo customers during the two-month vacuum.
