MintAir has ordered up to 40 Jaunt electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The partnership between the South Korea-based company and U.S-based Jaunt also sees MintAir become Jaunt’s exclusive advanced air mobility (AAM) partner in Korea.
Martin Peryea, CEO of Jaunt, says: “The Jaunt Journey’s aircraft design offers the safest air taxi configuration that is operationally efficient, quiet, and sustainable.”
MintAir plans to offer an AAM service in Korea and in partnership with Jaunt, will launch commercial passenger air transportation operations.
Eugene Choi, CEO of MintAir, says: “Our mission is to develop the safest Advanced Air Mobility service in both urban and rural environments based on sound ESG management. Jaunt Air Mobility is committed to those same principles throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle.”
United Airlines announced it was purchasing 100 eVTOL air taxis last year via a deal with Archer Aviation.
Meanwhile, AirAsia has a partnership with Avolon to lease 100 aircraft for a ride-sharing service between airports and city-center destinations and ANA has a deal with Joby for an air taxi service.
