Six months on from its rebanding (including a name change), NUMA Group has landed a $45 million investment round.
The venture round in the Germany-based company is being led by DN Capital and Headline, with participation from Soravia, Cherry Ventures, Scope Hanson and Kreos Capital.
The company was previously known as Cosi and had secured, until now, around $35 million in funding over two rounds.
NUMA (which has its flagship NumaStays website for consumers) partners with investors, property owners, developers and operators to create "disruptive design hotels for travelers."
A core element of the business is the use of technology to automate operations, giving what it claims are cost efficiencies and profit boosts of up to 40% for its hotel owners.
NUMA Go, a tech franchising service, is being positioned as a OYO-like service to implement in existing properties.
The company claims it achieved 85% occupancy in its 2,500 units around Europe in 2021, at the same time as expanding to properties in Spain, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic.
It also bought Spanish brand Friendly Rentals in June last year.
Brands operating a similar model include Life House, which secured an agreement to rebrand one its properties to Kayak in 2021 and develop tech services for other properties.
