PhocusWire sister brand Phocuswright is unveiling a new service that facilitates one-to-one mentoring relationships.
Phocuswright Connects connects mentees and mentors to learn and develop their journeys in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
Career mentoring helps individuals to expand their networks, gain new knowledge and insights, and build new skills.
Phocuswright Connects is being launched in association with Facebook.
Rebecca Callahan, vice president of client services at Phocuswright, says: "Given the current environment in travel and challenges associated with recovery, we thought it was the perfect time to launch Phocuswright Connects.
"Mentorship and networking is key to helping the industry move forward. Connects plays off the ‘culture of connection’ that drives so much of our in person event success and we wanted to develop a platform that would allow that level of networking and connection throughout the year.”
The program has the following features:
- Opportunities to connect with amazing mentors
- Mentors stay active for 12 months
- Mentees join for 6 or 12 months
- 1:1 mentorship connections with leaders in the space
- One-time "flash" meetings
- Longer three-month mentorship term
- Virtual networking opportunities
Colleen Coulter, head of industry, travel, at Facebook, adds: "We’re honored to be partnering with Phocuswright on the Phocuswright Connects program. As the travel industry reemerges from the pandemic, it’s critical that we come together to support the growth of the next generation of travel leaders.
"The focus on supporting diverse and underrepresented members of the travel industry is especially important to ensure all have access to mentorship - and the subsequent relationships and industry perspectives - to advance their career."
