Sabre has announced a number of interesting tie-ups recently, including wide-reaching partnerships with both Google and Accor.
Salman Syed, vice president for EMEA at Sabre, joined us in the PhocusWire studio at Travel Technology Europe in February to discuss the thinking behind those agreements and when we might see the first results.
The Google partnership has three components, including a move to cloud-based technology and drawing from its experience and capabilities to "co-innovate" on the traveler experience.
Syed notes a level of excitement within the company that was created by the Google announcement, as well as the anticipation of innovation to come.
On the Accor deal, created to develop a platform combining a property management system and reservation system, he says it's not about "tweaking around the edges" but creating something that is relevant for the future.
