Stasher acquires StoreMe to fuel North America expansion

London-based luggage storage network Stasher has acquired New York-based competitor StoreMe.

Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

The combination brings together Stasher’s 5,500 storage points in more than 1,000 cities around the world with StoreMe’s more than 300 locations in the United States. 

“I am delighted to transition StoreMe’s business over to Stasher, a leader in the market,” said StoreMe founder Peter Korbel.

“The timing was right to sell StoreMe and focus my efforts on my consulting business, 135 Madison, and other business opportunities. I have a lot of faith that the founders will continue to scale and grow the operation to new heights.”

Stasher was founded in 2015 and raised $2.5 million in 2020. Co-founder Jacob Wedderburn-Day said the acquisition of Stasher, founded in 2017, will help the company grow its presence in the U.S.

“The American market is massive and has a lot of untapped potential,” he said.

“This deal lets Stasher build on Peter’s excellent work and add some fantastic U.S. locations to our network, particularly on the East Coast.”

In the past Stasher has acquired U.S.-based Cubby, Airkeep in Latin America and MindMyBag in Australia.
