Sykes Holiday Cottages has acquired static caravan rental website UKcaravans4hire for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition marks the entry of U.K-based Sykes into the static caravan holiday market and follows the rental management company’s acquisition of Forest Holidays in early April.
According to a statement, UKcaravans4hire was set up more than a decade ago and offers about 6,000 holiday homes in the U.K. on its site.
The existing leadership is expected to remain in place and run the company independently.
Sykes’ platform now offers more than 22,500 holiday homes, and the company says it is on track to deliver in excess of £170 million in revenue this year.

Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes, says, “It’s a transformative time for Sykes as we accelerate our ambitions to become the leading name for U.K. tourism. We see huge potential in UKcaravans4hire to serve what is currently an underserved market, applying our expertise and market-leading technology to grow the business and catapult it to even greater success.”
In 2019, Sykes was acquired by private equity firm Vitruvian Partners, which acquired Travel Counsellors in 2018 and invested in tours and activities startup Civitatis earlier this year.
There has been a wave of consolidation in the vacation rental market in the U.K. and across Europe recently. Park Holidays U.K. was acquired by U.S-based Sun Communities for £930 million.
HomeToGo has also been on a spending spree, acquiring AMIVAC in January and E-Domizil in March.
Meanwhile, Awaze made several acquisitions to boost its rural properties portfolio and offloaded its Landal GreenParks business to Roompot.
