TripStax wants to modernize operations for small- to medium-size travel management companies by giving them access to its technology platform that connects data from the entire business travel ecosystem.

Its system consists of connected modules powered by what it calls its “data processing nerve center” -known as “The Core” – that manages data across modules and connects airline content from global distribution systems, aggregators and directly from airlines. In December, TripStax acquired B2B hotel booking platform Hotelzon from Travelport, enabling the addition of a hotel booking tool to its system.

During the Launch competition at The Phocuswright Conference, CEO Jack Ramsey explains how this new approach to travel management data processing removes complexity for TMCs, enabling them to spend more time and resources on serving customers.

Later in the PhocusWire studio, Ramsey talks to PhocusWire editor in chief Mitra Sorrells about the broader challenges related to “legacy systems” and “legacy thinking” within the business travel technology space and why this is inhibiting innovation.
