Colombian low-cost carrier Viva Air has launched a new flight connections platform called Viva Mundo to allow customers to purchase multi-leg trips.
Viva Mundo, powered by B2B travel technology provider Dohop, enables passengers to purchase multi-leg trips across airlines to reach destinations in the Americas not directly served by Viva Air.
The platform also allows travelers to book ancillary services such as baggage, in-flight services and upgrades in one experience.
Though airlines retain customer ownership, Viva Mundo bookings also include assistance from Dohop in case of a flight delay or cancellation.

"Through this offering, we are further expanding opportunities to connect our passengers between South America and North America with a single transaction, therefore providing them more international travel options. We will continue to maintain our characteristic low prices on the routes operated directly by Viva,” says Pablo Madriñan, chief commercial officer of Viva Group.
At launch, Viva Air offers connections with airline partners such as Air Transant, and additional airline partners are planned for the near future.
Viva Air operates 35 domestic routes within Colombia and Peru, as well as 11 international routes to the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and Brazil.
In March of this year, Iceland-based Dohop secured a “multi-million-euro” investment to develop its interlining technology.
