Wego, an online travel marketplace and metasearch solution
focused on travelers in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, has launched a B2B
accommodation platform.
WegoBeds is intended to provide a connection between hotels in
the Middle East and Wego’s global partner network, as well as providing supply
for Wego’s own online travel agency and its corporate travel businesses.
In 2022 Wego acquired
the Middle East business interests of OTA Cleartrip and in 2023 it acquired
business travel management platform Travelstop.
“The B2B hotel market is relatively fragmented from a B2B
perspective, and there is a lot of new supply coming onto the market in the
next few years,” said Craig Hewett, Wego co-founder and chief hotels officer.

"With WegoBeds we see an opportunity to create a
one-stop-shop for anybody globally who wants to sell Middle East hotels and who
wants a best-in-class technology platform.”
According to Research
& Markets, the hospitality industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council
(GCC) region is projected to reach a value of $37.62 billion by 2028.
Wego said that growth makes this an ideal time for it to launch this bedbank, which aims
to distribute the region’s hotel inventory to travel agencies around the world,
providing dynamic and static rates through channel managers and a dedicated
extranet.
Founded in 2005, Wego is dual headquartered in Dubai and
Singapore.
