There is general recognition that startups often need help along the way when entering the complex world of the travel industry.
Travelport launched its Accelerator program in June this year and recently announced the finalists from the first clutch of new businesses, focusing on marketing tools and services.
Mark Lenahan, propositions product director for airlines at Travelport, joined us at the PhocusWire Pulse: Startups in the Spotlight last month to explain and how the process works and what types of businesses it is interested in.
He also discussed what problems still need to be solved in the industry and tips for founders of travel startups.
The finalists include: The Data Appeal Company, Dynamo Video, Adobe, Stackla, Everymundo and Taguchi.
