As 2023 begins to wind down, travel companies are solidifying
priorities for the new year.
For Amadeus, those priorities align with four critical
topics facing the industry:
- automation
- search
- payments/fintech
- NDC (new distribution capability)
In a discussion in the PhocusWire studio at The Phocuswright
Conference, Amadeus’ senior vice president of travel sellers for North America, Eduardo Schutte, explains how the company is approaching each of these topics in its work with
online travel agencies and other travel sellers.
Schutte also explains how the company is exploring the use
of generative artificial intelligence, including the work it is doing in
partnership with Microsoft and Accenture.
“We are very excited about the potential and power of AI to
ultimately make travel better for everybody,” he said.
Schutte said the company has identified more than 100
different use cases for AI, including applications to make travel planning and search
more personalized and intuitive, to create smart itineraries, to facilitate
in-destination discovery and to improve customer service.
