Distribusion, a specialist in ground transportation technology, has raised €30 million in Series B funding.
The investment was led by Lightrock with existing investors Creandum and Northzone also involved.
Berlin-based Distribusion says it will use the funds for expansion beyond its current presence in Europe and Latin America.
Distribusion is helping to automate the ground transportation industry through its B2B marketplace and standardization technology.
Its system connects hundreds of bus, rail and public transport providers worldwide to a global network of travel retailers, including online travel agencies, mobility platforms, metasearch platforms, global distribution systems and more.
“Ground transportation often gets little attention despite having a market size larger than air passenger transport. It is the only accessible long-distance transport option for two-thirds of the world’s population. Yet, access from search to purchase and ticketing is often cumbersome and offline in most cases,” says Thomas Doering, CEO of Distribusion.
“With the new funding we can connect additional carriers and new geographies, digitalizing the experience. We will bring more products to customers’ favorite online channels and help promote the most sustainable mode of transport.”
Distribusion raised €6 million in Series A funding in 2016.
