JetBlue Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of the airline, has invested in TPG Rise Climate, the climate investment fund of TPG Rise.
JTV becomes a limited partner through its investment in the multi-billion dollar fund which targets large scale climate solutions.
According to a statement, the fund “seeks to work work collaboratively with the companies, entrepreneurs, and scientists who are pioneering innovative climate solutions across five key climate sub-sectors, of which decarbonized transport is one.”
As part of its investment, JTV also joins the TPG Rise Climate Coalition, which advocates knowledge sharing and highlights investment opportunities.
JetBlue and JTV also recently joined the Aviation Climate Taskforce, a non-profit organization founded last year by 10 airlines and the Boston Consulting Group to decarbonize aviation.
JTV is also an investor in a number of sustainability startup projects including Universal Hydrogen and Joby Aviation.
