Fabio Cannavale, co-founder and CEO
Fabio Cannavale is co-founder and CEO of Last Minute Group, a publicly-traded company operating a portfolio of brands including lastminute.com, Volagratis, Rumbo, weg.de, Bravofly, Jetcost and Hotelscan.
In a series of interviews with executives participating in the online event in September, PhocusWire finds out what they have learned from the COVID-19 crisis.
Knowing
what you know now, if you could go back to the start of the crisis, what would
you do differently?
Stop
the booking at the beginning of the COVID. We were forced to transform our
booking machine into a reimbursement machine.
What
have you learned from this time about the way you’ll manage and communicate
with your team moving forward?
People
like smart working, but they need physical presence. It’s very important to let
everyone always feel a part of the team and start new projects.
What
do you miss the most about travel?
I
don’t miss a lot. It’s possible to travel within Europe, and I enjoyed a summer
with much less people!!
What
have been the surprise benefits to not traveling?
Much
more relaxing life during lock down period. More relaxed trips after the
opening.
What
lasting changes will there be to you personally from this time?
More
remote meetings. I love smart working, and now it is much more accepted for any
kind of meeting.
What’s
been your one guilty pleasure during lockdown?
I
was in Switzerland where I was allowed to go into nature. I loved to do that
almost every day - ski alone in the powder
snow.
