Global ancillary revenue solutions provider Plusgrade has acquired UpStay to expand its offerings in the hospitality sector. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition advances Plusgrade’s “vision and mission of becoming the global ancillary revenue powerhouse,” according to Ken Harris, the company’s CEO. Founded in 2009, Plusgrade has more than 200 airline, hospitality, cruise, rail and financial services partners.
“We are thrilled to have the UpStay team join us, and look forward to tapping into their expertise and innovative technology to bring even more value to our [partners],” Harris says.

Tel Aviv-based UpStay was found in 2019 to help hotels “upsell additional products and services throughout the wealth of touchpoints they have with their guests,” according to the company. Today, Upstay works with hotels in 17 countries.
UpStay won the People’s Choice category in the Launch competition at The Phocuswright Conference 2021 (pitch video below).
According to Tzafrir Blonder, CEO of UpStay, “We are thrilled to be joining forces with Plusgrade to invest further in our product offerings and enhance our ability to drive ancillary revenue for our partners through upselling additional on-property amenities and services.”
In the coming weeks, UpStay will be integrated into the Plusgrade brand and will operate as Plusgrade going forward.
Plusgrade previously acquired loyalty commerce provider Points in July 2022 for $385 million.
