Savvy travel
sellers know that one of the keys to their success is being able to truly
understand their customers and, in turn, being able to provide them with a
value proposition that meets their wants and needs.
Since 2007,
Amadeus has been producing a report on what it calls “Traveler Tribes” – identifying
unique segments of consumers and the attitudes and behaviors that will shape
their travel buying decisions in the coming years.
In the latest
report, Traveler
Tribes 2033, Amadeus synthesizes research from expert interviews as well as
a survey of more than 10,000 people in 15 countries to identify four distinct “tribes”
that will develop in the next 10 years.

The report
examines both global forces of changes – such as political issues, technology innovation
and growing concern for sustainability – along with trends such as remote work,
the use of touchless technology and interest in travel for health and
well-being.
In an interview
with PhocusWire editor in chief Mitra Sorrells, Amadeus’ senior vice president for travel sellers in North America and
online Americas, Eduardo Schutte, explains the Traveler Tribes
2033 report and why it provides critical information for travel sellers.
And, he says, the findings also
point to the need for all parties in the travel ecosystem to work together.
“For
us to really enhance the travel experience, for us to enhance the travel
journey, it’s going to require us to better collaborate amongst ourselves,” he
says.
