Rezme aims to help properties make more direct bookings and ensure their websites are compatible with search engine and browser updates.
Founded in 2020, the Australia-based company launched its new browser extension, Cherry, in the United States in November.
Rezme says its new product, Cherry, saves properties money on commission fees while boosting direct bookings.
Cherry is a browser extension app and mobile app that intercepts users on online travel agency websites and redirects them to property websites, according to Matt Taylor, Rezme’s co-founder and CEO.
Properties download Cherry in their preferred browser, and the extension takes users not to the property’s homepage but “deep into funnel” to the booking page, Taylor told a live audience during the Launch event at The Phocuswright Conference.

“All [users] need to do, in two more steps, is select their room and pay, and they can check out,” Taylor says, adding that “everyone wins. The guest has got a better deal. The property’s got the direct booking and paid no OTA commission - and now has a better relationship with the guest as well.”
More than 1,000 accommodations properties in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States - including hotels, motels, resorts, vacation rentals and RV parks - are signed on with Cherry, according to the company.
Rezme plans to eventually enter into other travel verticals including attractions, tours, flights and car rental. Watch Taylor give his Launch presentation below followed by his conversation with PhocusWire senior reporter Kathryn Walson in the PhocusWire studio.
