As Kayak’s Amazon Alexa skill approaches its two-year anniversary, the company is updating the service with flight notifications.
Now users can ask Alexa to send an alert when a flight lands or at a specified interval before arrival – useful when picking someone up from the airport.
Kayak’s Alexa skill debuted in May 2016 with the capability to track and search for flights, look for hotels and get answers to exploratory questions such as “Where can I go for $500?”

In July 2017, Kayak added the ability to book a hotel with voice commands and to access personalized features by logging in to their Kayak account.
Kayak chief scientist Matthias Keller says more updates are in the works.
“We’d like to also be able to book flights,” he says.
“And we’d like to be able to do all these smart things like, I know your calendar and I know you want to be in this area because of this meeting, so I can give you a better recommendation for a hotel not just in a city but near your meeting that’s on your calendar.”
