Following its acquisition of property management system Cenium, Mews has made a second acquisition this month, this time outside of the PMS space.
The hotel tech specialist has acquired point-of-sale software provider Bizzon to expand Mews’ fintech offerings to hotels and their food and beverage teams.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Bizzon marks Mews’ fifth acquisition in the past two years following PMSs Cenium, U.K.-based Hotel Perfect, Base7Booking and Planet Winner.
Founded in 2015, Bizzon’s technology includes a mobile-first POS that helps hotels serve guests, take orders and make payments from anywhere on the property, as well as web-based digital ordering capabilities that allow guests to order and pay without staff intervention.
Bizzon currently supports 500 hotel businesses across 15 countries in Europe and Asia Pacific, including more than 200 Accor properties with several hundred more planned for rollout in 2022.

“Mews revolutionized property management systems by putting the guest at the center of our product instead of rooms and inventory,” says Mews CEO Matthijs Welle.
“As soon as we saw the Bizzon product, we know that their team shared our vision and product principles. They’ve put the guest at the heart of their product and removed every friction point in the F&B and hotel journey.”
The Bizzon POS product family will become part of the Mews Payments product line, and the acquisition includes Bizzon’s technology and team.
Founded in 2012, Mews counts more than 2,800 properties across 62 countries that run their hotel operations, bookings, payments and guest management on its cloud-based software.
