Modular hotel property management system Sihot has acquired point-of-sale hardware company Addipos to expand its portfolio of point-of-sale systems in the hospitality market. Both companies are based in Germany.
Sihot says it has collaborated with Addipos for years to deliver POS hardware and software. With the purchase, Sihot’s parent company, Gubse, will take over control of Addipos.

Addipos’ employees will not be affected, and its founders, Kai Grobusch and Peter Schmelzer, will remain with the business for the foreseeable future, according to the companies.
“We have always seen a great deal of value in our collaboration,” says Carsten Wernet, Sihot’s chief executive. “This will now allow us to even further bring our strengths together and enable the expertise of Peter and Kai to invest in the software development processes and resources of Gubse to take the POS market to the next level.”
Sihot is a cloud-based SaaS system designed for resorts, hotel chains, campsites, hostels and other properties. Sihot says its system “covers all operational processes with full customization, offering a highly qualitative and complete property management solution” to around 3,500 hotels worldwide.
Sihot’s customers include Accor, Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Motel One, FTI Group and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Gubse, along with Sihot, was established in 1986 and employs about 230 people globally. Addipos was founded in 2004.
In other recent hospitality acquisitions, Los Angeles-based property management platform Guesty acquired two hospitality software companies in September and hotel software company Guestline acquired Newbridge Software in October.
