It has been an interesting year for digital developments at Singapore Airlines.
In January, the carrier launched its KrisLab, a digital innovation space for employees, to help get employees to think differently.
The airline followed this up with the launch of its latest App Challenge, for startups and students,
which addresses various ways the customer experience can be enhanced, operational improvement and sustainability.
In an interview with PhocusWire during the World Aviation Festival 2019 in London last month, SIA’s vice president of digital innovation Jerome Thil talked about instilling a digital culture within the organization.
Acceptance of projects must also come from the top and Thil discussed how initiatives are approved, and prioritized, as well as the role the airline’s chief executive plays.
He also spoke on how the carrier marries digital innovation with the high-touch service expectations of its customers.
